Tracy L. Hackett, AP, DAOM, NCCAOM Dipl. OM is a Florida Department of Health board-certified Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture Physician, and nationally certified as a Diplomate of OM with the NCCAOM.
I earned my clinical doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, California Institute of Integrative Studies (CiiS) in San Francisco, California. I received my Master’s of Science degree for TCM at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, San Francisco, CA, in 2005. During that time, I studied Functional Medicine as well, since it’s premise is largely based upon TCM differential diagnosis theory (e.g. systems-based analysis of body regulation).Â
I completed my clinical rounds at TCM hospital settings in Hang Zhou, China including Zhejiang Chinese Medical University Hospital and Red Cross Hospital, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China (2005, 2013). I also completed observation rounds at the Pain and Palliative Care Unit at the NIH in Bethesda, MD (2013), and California Pacific Medical Center, UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco, CA (2003-04), Sutter Health, Oakland, CA (2004), Women’s Cancer Resource Center, Oakland, CA, (2003) and Quan Yin Healing Arts, SF, under the auspices of Beverly Burns (2004).
I was the acupuncturist for a beloved Rinpoche (teacher/lama) of the Drikung Kagyu lineage and practiced in his community clinic for his resident monks and nuns in Kathmandu, Nepal, and at the Lamayuru monastery, Ladakh, India (2006-07).
I studied healing arts throughout Asia for many years. I have taught classical hatha yoga since 1997 and have been an avid meditator since early childhood. I teach all of my patients some form of meditation with the aim of catalyzing their healing process. We work together to encourage and refine what you already know in practice or I can help the complete beginner find a sensible entry point to discover the amazing benefits of meditation practices.
I have extensive experience treating many health conditions through systems-based medicine since 2005.
